The role
About this Role
As we continue to grow we are looking for a new Designer to work with our driven and enthusiastic team. Our designers are interior and kitchen specialists who use their in-depth product and technical knowledge to create exciting designs for Kitchens, to bedrooms and all rooms in between.
Designing a kitchen is like throwing a party, you want to create the mood, get the ingredients right, make sure there is a flow of people and room to prepare space to dine, drink and dance. Our designers think about how it will be used and who will be using it. Whether it's the dream of reluctant gourmet or budding chef, or for a hungry family of four, we design to reflect these differing requirements.
Responsibilities include:
- Arrange in-store consultations and home visits to find out all requirements
- Create, present and exchange thoughts on innovative design schemes
- Inspire, excite and support our customers from design concept to installation or delivery
- Update and maintain accurate customer records using a number of software packages
- Manage multiple projects ensuring seamless communication and coordination throughout
- Actively contribute to the growth and development of the store
Our stores are open 7 days a week and so it's important that you'll have flexibility to work during the week and at weekends also.
Neptune Reading sees the restoration of the seventeenth-century gate lodge Monksmead House. Oak-framed, spread across two levels and surrounded by expansive gardens, it sits on the main toll road between London and Bath, dubbed the Floral Mile.

Our Story
Founded in 1996 by friends John Sims-Hilditch and Giles Redman, Neptune design and make pieces for your whole home. Who you'll meet
Here at Neptune Reading, we’re a team of 11. From Laura our store leader, to our two kitchen designers Christina (who won Neptune kitchen designer of the year award) and David, Rhonda our home designer, design assistants Emma and Sophie, plus all of our home specialists Jackie, Julie, Karen, Liz and Stacia. Whoever you chat to will be able to help with everything from measurements to choosing a colour palette.

We are recruiting for a full time Home Specialist
The role
About this Role
We are looking for a Home Specialist to join our team on a fixed term contract who will provide a premium customer service experience to all our customers through their in-depth product knowledge and passion for great design and interiors.
Responsibilities include:
- Creating a welcoming environment that makes customers want to visit regularly
- Identifying customer needs and use product knowledge to help choose suitable products
- Processing sales and communicate information accurately
- Being able to respond to queries on product's price, features and benefits
- Assisting in the health and safety, cleanliness and security of the store
- Supporting colleagues and working together as a team
- Being a brand ambassador for Neptune
